يَاوَرِي مُوسَاوَنِي رئيس أوغندة منذ سنة 1986، وقد انتخب للمرة السادسة في 16 يناير 2021. ولد في أقصى جنوب غربي أوغندة، ودرس علم السياسة في جامعة دار السلام، وفيها أنشأ وآخرين الطليعة الثورية الإفريقية الطلابية. وكان ممن خرجوا على عيدي أمين سنة 1972 فلم يفلحوا. ثم أنشأ بعد سنة طليعة إنقاذ الوطن، ليقاتل فيها العسكرَ الأوغنديَّ سنة 1978 مستنصرا عليهم بالعسكرِ الطنزاني، فكانت هزيمة عيدي أمين وأصحابه، وسقوط جمهورية أوغندة الثانية، وقيام الثالثة.
